Two local teams could be one step closer to earning a place in the final rounds of the WIAA High School State football playoffs tonight. Only 3 games separate one of the teams from making it to the final State Championship game. If both teams go on to win the next few weeks, Horlick and Lake Geneva would eventually have to face each other. Only one local team has the potential to make it to the Final game.
The Badgers will host Verona tonight at 7:00pm. The Badgers defeated Madison West last week 30-7 to advance. If the Badgers win, they will face either Madison La Follett or Middleton on November 4th.
Horlick’s Rebels will travel to Marquette’s Hart Park tonight as well. If Horlick wins, they will go on to face Oak Creek or Franklin on November 4th. Horlick defeated Kenosha’s Indian Trail last week 56-6 to advance.
The WIAA State Division 1 Championship game will take place November 18th at 4:00pm.
